More research to look through...

Mary Chapman (the humanities reference specialist at the library) did some awesome research for me. I feel like I should bake her cookies or something. Here is what she came up with:

        http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Systems_art  This is a Wikipedia article about “systems art.”  I’m not sure if this is the same thing as “art systems” which you are looking for.  If the article is about what you’re looking for then take note of terms and concepts mentioned that you can use in your searches for books and articles.  Also there’s a decent bibliography at the end for “references” and “further reading” that might prove helpful to you.  If links to some of the listings are bad, try searching in Google Scholar to find the material.  For example, the link for Jack Burnham’s article “Systems Esthetics” doesn’t work but you can find it by searching Google Scholar.  Here’s a good link I found there for it:  http://monoskop.org/images/e/e6/Burnham_Jack_1968_Systems_Esthetics.pdf

·        Books –  Search the library catalog for BYU holdings and World Cat for items in other libraries.  Along with using terms from above, try searching for books about modern art, contemporary art, postmodern art, and/or specific artists.
